Staycation (noun): a vacation spent in one’s home country rather than abroad, or one spent in hometown and involving day trips to local attractions.

If your money is a little tight, but you’re itching to get out of your house for a few days, I recommend booking a hotel in your local city for a brief staycation. It’s an excellent way of getting some R&R while exploring the hidden gems in your hometown.

I’m always scouting for new hotels to visit when I feel the need to separate from my home, so you can only imagine how thrilled I was to receive an invitation from the Hyatt Dallas/Park Central to take a tour of its property. Although it’s not a full service hotel, the Hyatt Dallas/Park Central offers a ton of unique amenities which makes it the perfect place to lodge for your next staycation.

It’s [Surprisingly] Affordable

Rooms normally range from $95 to $129 USD per night. Guests have the luxury of staying in a spacious unit with contemporary furniture, plush king sized or double beds, and high floor ceilings.  And ALL of the rooms have sleeper sofas!

When I see hotel rates that low in a prominent area, red flags immediately pop up in my head. Like what’s the catch? Why is the cost so low? Is it in a dangerous area? Are there hidden fees? Are there bedbugs? Fortunately, none of that is the case at the Hyatt Dallas/Park Central. The rooms are cleaned daily, there are no concealed costs, and it’s completely free of bed bugs. You’ll definitely get your money’s worth here!

24/7 Dining

One of my favorite hobbies is stuffing my belly with food. So I was elated to hear that the hotel serves food 24 hours a day. Guests can start their day off with a hearty breakfast that includes cage-free eggs, fresh fruit, and yogurt. With its 24/7 Gallery Menu, guest can also grab salads, snacks, bar bites and bottled beverages at any time of day. That means you can pig out from the time you wake up, until the time you get in bed to meet the sandman.

Note: There are also an assortment of vegetarian options to choose from, and guests can even request speciality meals if they have dietary restrictions.

It’s Pet Friendly

I always say staycations are much more fun with company. For a small fee, guests can invite their favorite furry friends to stay with them for a few nights.

Location Is Central To Local Dallas Attractions

While it can be fun hibernating in the comfort of your hotel room, sometimes it’s good to get some fresh air. Luckily, the Hyatt Dallas/Park Central is located in a beautiful area surrounded by a myriad of restaurants, sports and recreation centers, malls, the city Zoo and Dallas Aquarium.

Plug & Play Panel

This is personally one of my favorite features of the hotel. If we’re keeping it real, most hotels don’t have the best cable options. And the pay-per-view movies that are offered always seem to cost more than the rate of the hotel. With the Hyatt’s plug and play panel, guests can connect their laptops, game consoles, and cellular devices to the television. So if you’re like me, and want to catch up on your favorite Netflix series, you can plug in your laptop and binge watch an entire season of Greenleaf.
